Junco Hayashida

She was born in Saga, home to Arita, Karatsu, and Imari ceramics.

While working at a newspaper company, she began making ceramics in her spare time and found herself drawn to the fascination of ceramics.

Work and child-rearing took him away from ceramics for a while, but he decided to make it his life's work and studied ceramics again for three years.

She later moved from Tokyo to Isumi City in the Chiba Prefecture, where his studio is located amidst nature.

She grows more than 100 varieties of trees, plants, and flowers in his garden, which he uses as living motifs in his work.

She is working on various kinds of earrings, hoping to capture the feeling of connection with nature experienced in the garden or on the walkway.

She values the nuances created by the pottery and glaze and the original colors and textures of the clay. Her goal in life is to create pieces that will be used and loved for many years, like antiques.

She wants her garden and studio to be a place where neighbors, friends, acquaintances, and visitors can feel at home. To that end, she grows various flowers and trees and does the weeding and tilling herself.

She also likes to make pastries by kneading flour and baking it like clay.

Akira Hayashida

He was fascinated by ceramics through his partner's work as a craftsman and his artwork.

He is mainly in charge of administrative work, behind-the-scenes tasks, and direction.
